Default Control Interval Values

This section specifies the default control interval values that are set by evalink talos when various predefined SLA schemes (for example, DP2 (30m, 25h), SP3 (30m)) are selected. These values differ across virtual receiver types.

The predefined SLA schemes are aligned with the categories set in the EN 50136-1:2012 regulatory standard and the A1:2018 addition to it. SLA schemes DP1 Sitasys (23h, 48h) and SP2 Sitasys (23 h) are DP1 and SP2 schemes adapted to Swiss regulatory requiments. For details on the regulations involved, see section EN 50136-1:2012 Standard and Swiss Requirements.

Note that setting polling intervals to the transmitter is supported for Virtual TNA Receiver and the Virtual Paradox Receiver only. Virtual VdS Receiver also has control of the polling intervals since it polls the transmitter itself.

For all other virtual receivers, the polling interval values affect only the status indicators appearance on the virtual receiver page. For details on status indicators, see section Alarm Transmitter Integrations Overview > View Connection Status Indicators on the Virtual Receiver Page.

Site Reporting Times

Dual-path transmitters are by default assumed to support Secondary to primary path failover (SecToPrim). Therefore, extra time is added to the path reporting time in order to make it possible for the transmitter to complete the hardware SecToPrim procedure.

The same values are used for all dual-path transmitters. Equivalents in seconds are provided, since evalink talos UI expects the control interval values to be set in seconds when configuring a Custom DP scheme.

tip

This section specifies site reporting times for dual-path transmitters only, since for single-path transmitters site reporting time equals the path reporting time of the only available path.

SLA Scheme / Control Interval Site Reporting time
DP1 (25h, 50h)25 hr = 90 000 sec
DP1 Sitasys (23h, 48h)23 hr = 82 800 sec
DP2 (30m, 25h)31 min = 1 860 sec
DP3 (3m, 25h)4 min = 240 sec
DP4 (90s, 5h)3 min = 180 sec

Virtual Receiver-Specific Polling Intervals

tip

The sections below provide the polling interval values only, since:

  • the path reporting time values for all available paths are specified in brackets in each SLA option name (for example, DP2 (30m, 25h))
  • the site reporting time values are specified in section Site Reporting Times in this article

Sitasys TNA Devices

info

For Sitasys TNA devices, polling intervals can be set from evalink talos to the transmitter.

info

The 300 seconds value for the secondary path is set because of the permanent TCP connection constraint (see section Connection Monitoring Overview > evalink talos TCP Connection Constraint).

VdS

info

The Virtual VdS Receiver polls the connected transmitter itself and therefore controls the polling interval.

VdS 2465-S2

The polling interval is 8 seconds for all SLA options, all transmission paths, and all types of polling intervals (primary, secondary path, and SecToPrim).

info

The 165 seconds polling interval for the secondary path is a safe value that addresses the limitation of the VdS SecurIP devices. A VdS SecurIP transmitter is experimentally known to close the connection if no polling is received within ~180 seconds.

FlexC

info

The values in this section are purely informational, since evalink talos cannot set polling interval values to the transmitter for this virtual receiver type.

Paradox & Other

info

For transmitters connected via Virtual Paradox Receiver, the polling interval on the panel can be set from evalink talos.

The same default values are applied for DC-09, Fibro, Alwon, Intelbras, and Galaxy virtual receivers, but for these integrations the values are purely informational, since evalink talos cannot set them to the transmitter.
