Virtual Galaxy Receiver Overview
info
In this section, the term panel indicates a Honeywell Galaxy Series panel of any model, if not stated otherwise.
The term a receiver instance indicates a single Virtual Galaxy Receiver with a unique Galaxy account assigned by evalink talos.
Virtual Galaxy Receiver Overview
Virtual Galaxy Receiver is an integration that enables users to connect to Honeywell Galaxy Series panels, to receive and process alarms from these devices. Virtual Galaxy Receiver is enabled on a global level by users with Administrator permissions and is configured for each site individually by users with Administrator and Manager permission levels.
The direct connection monitoring (SLA) scheme is used to connect an instance of Virtual Galaxy Receiver with a Galaxy Series panel. For details about the direct connection monitoring scheme, see section Direct Connection Monitoring.
Virtual Galaxy Receiver communicates with Honeywell Galaxy Series panels over SIA DC-09 protocol. For all panel models, SIA levels 0 through 4 are supported. For details about the use of SIA protocol with Galaxy Virtual Receiver, see section SIA DC09 Specifics for Virtual Galaxy Receiver.
It is possible to use Remote Control options for Honeywell Galaxy Series panels, provided that a correct SIA configuration is selected.
For each instance of Virtual Galaxy Receiver, Virtual Receiver logs are available for download and online work. For details on working with Virtual Receiver logs, see section Working with Virtual Receiver Logs.
For details about how to configure Virtual Galaxy Receiver to work with Remote Control, see section Specify Honeywell Galaxy Series Panel Details for Remote Control.
coming soon
Information about working with Remote Control options will be added in future documentation releases.
The figure below illustrates a connection scheme between evalink talos, Virtual Galaxy Receiver and Honeywell Galaxy panels. SIA levels 1-3 are used for one-way panel-to-receiver communication. SIA level 4 is used for two-way communication between a panel and a Virtual Galaxy Receiver instance (with Remote Control options):
When a Virtual Galaxy Receiver is enabled and configured for a site on evalink talos and is properly connected to a Honeywell Galaxy Series panel, evalink talos workflows can be set up to filter and manage alarms coming from the receiver instances.
For example, it is possible to assign alarms coming from a particular receiver instance to a designated workflow. For details, see section Use of Virtual Galaxy Receiver in Workflows.
